Pick the book holding your bonus bet and its size; it ranks every hedge by how much of the bonus you keep.
- 1.Under "Books", make sure DraftKings and the books you can bet the other side at are switched on.
- 2.Set "Select Free Bet Book" to DraftKings and "Free Bet Size" to your bonus bet's amount. If the terms cap bonus-bet odds, type the cap into "Max Odds".

Where it fits
The usual first book, alongside FanDuel. Its welcome offer is one and done, with no rollover (no amount you must bet before you can withdraw): take the bonus, convert it, cash out. After that it makes a good second book for the other side of offers elsewhere.
You get one welcome offer per book. Sign up with your real details, and you must be in a state where DraftKings is licensed when you bet.
How its offers work
- The current offer: bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets, paid as three $50 bonus bets spread over two weeks. The amount has ranged from $100 to $300 over time, so check the live terms before you deposit.

- Each bonus bet typically converts at 55% to 70%, depending on the prices that day.
- In some states the app also shows a 20% deposit match paid in DK Dollars, released a little at a time as you bet. Odds cap on bonus bets. None on record. DraftKings bonus bets have had no maximum odds, so keeping about 60% of each one as cash is within reach. Leave "Max Odds" empty unless your terms say otherwise.
Practical details
- Its bet slip does not show your max bet. Place the DraftKings side first, then the other side at a book whose slip does, like FanDuel.
- Doubleheaders are listed as two separate games. Match the start time to the row you are betting.
- On a computer, signing in runs a location check; install the location plugin once. The phone app has it built in.
Cashing out. Nothing to clear on the welcome offer, so withdraw once the bonus bets are converted. Deposit you did not use comes back to the method you paid with. Licensed books usually pay out within 1 to 3 business days, and PayPal linked to your bank is often the fastest. Cash out and track it
Questions people ask
Should I hedge the $5 first bet? No. On a new account, bet the $5 straight on any main game. The $5 is not what you are after; the bonus bets are. Check the terms for a minimum price on it: the current version asks for -500 or longer.
Do I pick between the welcome offer and the deposit match? No. Where both show, they stack on the same new account.
Can I pull money out afterwards? Yes, any time, with one exception: while a deposit match is still releasing, leave the money in until the betting it needs is done. Withdrawing early breaks the terms and can cost you the rest of the match.
Watch out: screenshot a promo's terms before you deposit. Offers have vanished from the app before, and the screenshot is what support needs to fix it.
