Staying healthy
If a book limits you
A sportsbook can lower how much it lets you bet, or stop sending you offers. Here is how to tell if it has happened, what to do in the next ten minutes, and what never to do.
What a limit is
Licensed books decide how much they will take from each customer. Being limited means the book has cut that amount for you. It rarely sends a message. You notice it instead:
- The most you can bet drops sharply, say from $1,000 to $200 on the same kind of game.
- Promotions that other customers see stop showing up in your account.
- Withdrawals take longer, with an extra review.
Limited is not banned. You can still log in, deposit, bet within the new maximum and withdraw, and your balance is still yours. You have not broken a rule; it is the book's business decision. Books mostly limit customers they expect to win from them over time, but they can limit anyone, and many people who take a lot of promotions get limited eventually.
Limited, or just a quiet line?
A low maximum hours before a game usually just means the line has not taken much money yet. The maximum rises as the start gets closer.
To see your maximum, use the max-bet button on the bet slip if the book has one. If not, type a very large stake, without placing it, and read the message; many books reply with the most they will take. Check a main-market game close to its start. If the number is still a fraction of what it used to be and your promos have dried up, you are limited.
What to do
- 1Let any open bets finish. Use or convert any bonus bets you still hold, sized to what the book now accepts.
- 2Withdraw the balance. Cash out and track it has the steps.
- 3Record the withdrawal in BreadSync, so your balances stay true.
- 4Move on to the next book on your list. Offers by State lists every licensed welcome offer in your state.

Do it in BreadSync
Bankroll
Once the book's balance reads $0 here, the Odds Screen's "All books with a balance" quick-select leaves it out, so it stops turning up in your pairs.
- 1."Add Withdrawal" > the book > amount > date > "Add Withdrawal".
- 2.Click the book's name and check its balance matches what the book shows.
- 3.Picking books by hand on the Odds Screen? Switch that book off under "Books".
If a book takes only part of a bet mid-offer, hedge only the part it accepted. Type the accepted amount into the row on the Free Bet or Risk-Free Bet view, or into the free Freebet or Risk Free Bet calculator, and use the new hedge stake.
How much a limit costs you
It depends on the book. Welcome offers are one per book, so a limit at a book you have already finished, and that sends you nothing, costs very little. A limit at a book that still sends you regular promotions costs you those promotions. Working several books rather than one is what makes any single limit a small thing.
Sensible habits
None of these is a way around a limit, and nothing can promise a book will not limit you. They are simply the sound way to play.
- Main markets in the big leagues: moneyline, spread and total. They take the most money and hedge cleanly.
- Two sides, two books. Both sides of one game at the same book usually earns no rollover credit, and one book rarely has the best price on both sides. The Odds Screen always pairs two different books.
- Check the maximum before a big bet, and size the other side to what was actually accepted.
- Big balances only where you have been paid before. $3,000 to $5,000 is plenty to leave in a book you have never withdrawn from.
Watch out: never open a second account at the same book, never use anyone else's, and never use a VPN or anything that changes where you appear to be. Each one breaks the book's rules and can cost you the whole balance. Rules you never break
