Does a 50% profit boost increase your stake or total payout?
The short answer
A profit boost increases the winnings portion, not your stake or the whole payout. On $25 at +150, normal winnings are $37.50. A 50% boost makes them $56.25. Add the original $25 stake back to get an $81.25 total winning payout.
Apply the percentage to the right number
Use 0.50 for a 50% boost. Multiplying the whole $62.50 payout by 1.5 would give $93.75, which incorrectly boosts the returned stake. Adding 50 points to +150 would also be wrong.
A losing cash-funded boosted bet still loses its full $25 stake. The boost is not insurance and is not a bonus token that absorbs the loss.
Boosted decimal odds = 1 + (original decimal odds − 1) × (1 + boost rate)| $25 at +150 | Without boost | With 50% profit boost |
|---|---|---|
| Cash stake | $25 | $25 |
| Winnings | $37.50 | $56.25 |
| Total winning payout | $62.50 | $81.25 |
| Effective odds | +150 | +225 |

The percentage alone does not tell you its value
For a hypothetical matching opposite price of -160, the $81.25 boosted payout needs a $50 cash hedge. If the boosted bet wins, $56.25 winnings minus the $50 hedge loss leaves $6.25. If the hedge wins, $31.25 winnings minus the $25 boosted-bet loss also leaves $6.25.
That pair uses $75 of cash, not $25. A different hedge price changes the result, and a positive result only applies if the stakes and matching settlement conditions are accepted as calculated. This example has no fees.
Check the token before applying the formula
In a calculator, enter either the original odds plus the boost or the already-boosted odds with no added boost. Applying both counts the same reward twice.
- Maximum eligible stake and any cap on extra winnings.
- Eligible odds, sports, markets and whether a parlay is required.
- Whether the promotion boosts profit or uses a different stated mechanism.
- The actual boosted payout shown on the accepted receipt.
The takeaway
Boost the winnings once. Then compare the resulting payout, hedge cost and cash required.
