What if the odds move after your first bet is accepted?
The short answer
Keep the accepted ticket fixed. Recalculate the unplaced side using its current odds, then check the new outcome amounts. Do not change the first ticket in your calculation to a price you never received, and do not retry an unclear submission without checking open bets.
A small-looking move can change the result
Suppose a $100 stake-not-returned bonus bet was accepted at +250. Its winning payout is fixed at $250. The opposite cash price then changes.
The new price needs $8.93 more cash and returns $8.93 less. Reusing the old stake at the new price would leave unequal outcomes. These figures assume the markets and settlement rules still match.
| Cash hedge price | Balanced cash stake | Net cash after either normal outcome |
|---|---|---|
| -250 | $178.57 | About $71.43 |
| -300 | $187.50 | $62.50 |

Check what was actually accepted
- Neither bet accepted: you can abandon the pair.
- Only the first accepted: keep its actual stake, odds, and funding type fixed.
- Part of the hedge accepted: include that part before calculating any remainder.
- Status unclear: check receipt IDs and open bets, then contact support if needed.
A changed line is not just changed odds
Over 45.5 against under 44.5 is not the same pair at a worse price. It leaves a gap where both bets can lose. A different period, overtime rule, or draw treatment also changes the problem.
If you cannot identify every possible outcome, stop adding tickets and work out the exposure first. Hoping for a better live price does not complete the hedge.
The takeaway
Accepted tickets are facts. Available prices are inputs that can change.
