X (Twitter) Affiliate Guide

Betting X is the densest concentration of people who already bet regularly and already care about lines. The catch is that it is also saturated with picks accounts and hype, so the thing that stands out is being the account that shows the actual mechanism. This guide covers bio setup, the formats that work, and how to run a conversion thread.

Read the Affiliate Overview first if you have not. It covers the principles that apply everywhere. Making video too? There is a YouTube guide as well.

Bio Templates

Steal these and make them yours. The pattern that works is what you do → who it is for → where the link goes.

Bonus conversion + line shopping. I post the math, not picks.
Tools I use ↓
Turning sportsbook promos into actual cash. Threads on how, no tout nonsense.
My setup ↓
I bet full time and show my work. Line shopping, hedging, bankroll.
What I use ↓
$200 bonus bet ≠ $200. I explain why, and what to do about it.

Profile setup

  • Say what you actually do in the bio. “Bonus conversion and line shopping. I post the maths.” beats any variation of “betting expert.” People follow accounts with a specific subject.
  • Link in the website field. That field is the only place X will not throttle a link, and it survives every post you make. Attribution runs 30 days from a click, so a profile visitor who converts a fortnight later still counts as yours.
  • Pin your best explainer thread, not a promo post. The pinned slot is what a new visitor reads first, and a thread that teaches something earns the follow. The promo can live inside it.

Links kill reach. Work around it

X suppresses posts with outbound links. This shapes everything about how you post here, and it is the main reason X strategy differs from video.

Put the substance in the post itself and the link in a reply, or lean on the bio link and just say “link in bio.” A thread whose first post is pure value and whose last reply carries the link will out-reach the same content with a link up top, usually by a wide margin.

The formats that work

The line-difference screenshot

One game, the same market priced across several books, best and worst circled. One line of text saying what the gap is worth on a normal stake. This is the highest effort-to-engagement ratio post available to you and takes about ninety seconds to make.

The bonus conversion thread

Five to eight posts walking through one real promo end to end: the offer, why the bonus is not worth face value, finding the hedge, placing both sides, what you are left holding, and what could go wrong. Screenshot each step. This is the single best-performing format for this subject on X, because most of the audience has never seen the process laid out.

The reply

Someone posts a promo offer or complains about being limited. Reply with the actual answer with no link and no pitch. Do this consistently and the profile visits follow on their own. New accounts grow faster from good replies than from good posts.

The single-fact post

“A $200 bonus bet is worth about $140 in cash, because the stake does not come back. Most people never work this out.” One idea, no link, no thread. These travel further than anything else you post and quietly build the audience the rest of it converts.

Good and weak posts

Weak

"Up $3,200 this month using this tool 🤑 link in bio, thank me later"

Better

"DraftKings has this at -110. Bovada has the other side at +102. That gap is the whole game. It is the difference between a hedge costing you money and one that does not. I check this before every bet now. Takes ten seconds."

The first is an income claim, which is against the program terms and gets content pulled. The second demonstrates the same value proposition without claiming anything about earnings, and it is more convincing to the people you actually want.

Weak

"Matched betting is free money, DM me for my link"

Better

"Claimed the $200 bonus at [book] today. Walking through exactly what I did with it, including the part where the value is nowhere near $200. 🧵"

“Free money” attracts people with no bankroll who cancel in a month, and it is not true. The thread hook promises a specific process and pre-empts the objection, which filters for people who will stick.

Weak

"Best betting tool on the market. 100 sportsbooks. Free trial. [link]"

Better

A screenshot of one game priced across six books, with: "Same market. 14 cents between the best and worst price. This is why line shopping is not optional."

Feature lists do not travel on X and the link suppresses reach. The screenshot makes the argument by itself and can carry the link in a reply.

On screenshots

Screenshot the tool doing its job: odds side by side, a hedge being calculated, a position being tracked. Do not screenshot your profit and loss.

Profit screenshots are the standard currency of betting X and they are a trap for a partner on recurring commission. They attract people expecting the same returns, who subscribe, do not get them, and cancel. You earn one payment instead of two years of them, and you have taught your audience to distrust you. The mechanism is more convincing than the outcome anyway, because the mechanism is reproducible.

Example Posts for Inspiration

Rewrite these in your own voice. Do not paste them verbatim, because half a dozen accounts posting identical copy is obvious and it stops working. Swap in real numbers from whatever is live tonight.

A $200 bonus bet is not worth $200.

The stake doesn't come back, so you're realistically extracting ~$140 of it.

Most people never work this out and just parlay it away.
Same game. Same market.

Book A: -110
Book B: +102

That 12 cent gap is the entire difference between a hedge that costs you money and one that doesn't. Check before every bet.
Claimed the new-customer promo at [book] today.

Walking through exactly what I did with it, including the part where the value is nowhere near the headline number. 🧵
The unsexy truth about this: it's bookkeeping.

Find the price, place two sides, log it, wait. No edge from being clever. The edge is from being organised and actually checking.
Things nobody tells you before you start:

- Books limit accounts, it will happen
- Promo terms change mid-offer
- "Free bet" and "bonus bet" are not the same thing
- Your tracking matters more than your picks
Spent an hour doing this by hand in a spreadsheet last year.

Now it takes about four minutes. That's the whole pitch, honestly.
